So today I got feedback for my second term and I officially passed and got into 3rd year. Really happy with my grades overall but a little disappointed with my grade for the ISTD project, 1 mark off a 1st! So disappointed but at the same time happy with my 2:1 average… 3rd year here I come!
The 3rd years are Gods, they managed to get Barnbrook to come in to Lincoln and give a talk! It starts at 2pm so I’m off to get ready. I’ll try and take some sneaky photos and upload them later.
Happy Birthday Saul Bass - Google.
Bass was one of the first graphic designers I took influence from, I love his work but I think most design students do. It made me really happy when I went to use Google this morning and found this! I sat and watched it all, Saul Bass’s film titles celebrated in Googles doodle
Portfolio hand in! - it’s tomorrow!

This is a photo of my spatial design project, I’m just editing the photos now!
I have a pretty basic knowledge of it, but i pick things up pretty quickly so hopefully editing photos will be a breeze during 3rd year!

Editing my data visualisation project for final portfolio hand in next wednesday, Just need to get these spreads sorted and some new photos taken for my Spatial awareness project and then this years all done!
I can’t believe the 3rd years managed to get this organised Jonathan Barnbrook is coming in to do a talk on the 15th of May. I’m excited!
University of Lincoln, BA Hons Graphic Design has the best degree show website I’ve seen so far!
Submit your degree show to the directory.
These are the 3rd years at my university - It’s scary to think that we have to do better than this next year for our show, or at least be just as good. they’ve done an amazing job and put so much effort into everything, I can’t wait to see the show.
A day in the Studio - 3.23
So as you know this latest project we had to create an installation piece, luckily for us the top floor to our building is empty so we were able to use some of the old rooms up there to do work in! (you can see the size of the space we have to use in the top photo - its the white rectangle marked out on the floor) as part of my piece I needed to make a house so that’s what I spent today doing and hopefully by the end of tomorrow there will be a lot more done. I’ll post some more photos tomorrow and fingers crossed it should all start to take shape.
